Please consider joining us as we grow our goal-setting community!

June Goals Recap:
- Reinstitute a morning routine
I use "routine" very lightly here. We have as much as one can have a routine with a 3 month old.
- Reinstitute an evening routine
Again, "routine." Does falling asleep nursing and getting up in the middle of the night to get ready for bed count as a routine? I say, yes, because it happens pretty much nightly.
- Finish organizing our closet
- Box nonseasonal clothing
- Daily core building exercises
- Send out birth announcements
I'm not sure this will happen before Christmas now...
- Thank you cards for baby gifts
So blessed! We still have a few more to do.
- Say Serenity Prayer each day

July Goals:
- 30 Day Healthy Living Program with Arbonne
- Create a new family budget
- Thank you cards for baby gifts
- Say Serenity Prayer each day

In keeping with my resolution to live 2016 in serenity, my focus is to share my top priorities on my to do list and to tackle this list with grit and a whole lot of grace. Please join us!
Hugs,
Christina

Goodbye and Hello

This week's Tuesday Talk is bittersweet. Last week we bid adieu to three of our lovely co-hosts:

Stasia at Our Life on a Budget

I'm sad not to be joined each week by these sweet ladies, but happy for them and their new goals for their families and blogs. Please keep visiting them and supporting them in their new endeavors.

That was the bitter part, now for the sweet. We are being joined by three new co-hosts!

Liz at Chasin' Mason
Justine at Full Hands, Full Heart
Meghan at The Adventure Starts Here

I'm excited to get to know these sweet ladies and continue on with them in sharing and celebrating each Tuesday. Make sure to send them some love today!

Things You Might Not Know About Me

Have you seen these on social media? Fun little lists of facts that you might not have known about someone. I know it is silly, but I kind of love them. And thought I'd join in on the fun today.

I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Theology. I went to college dead set against studying Theology, because, "I wanted to do something with my life." Then I realized there wasn't anything else I wanted more than to use my gifts to bring others to God.
I am cursed/blessed with a young face. It is kind of fun having people tell me I'm not old enough to have a baby and take it back when I say I'm in my thirties.

My food allergies are not all true allergies, but Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Basically when I eat the food my body detects it as if I were eating something I am allergic to. So to my body a yummy apple is akin to me eating ragweed. OAS is extremely common for those with severe seasonal allergies.

I turned my husband down when he first asked me on a date.

My husband and I both do not remember when we first met.

I wanted to have a girl just to prove my husband's statement that his family only has boys wrong.

I have Cherokee Indian in my ancestry. I don't know the percentage, because my great-great grandparents didn't want their heritage to hurt the family so they didn't speak about it much and did not register themselves as Native American. If only they knew how much things would change.

A jar of peanut butter resides in my desk at work.

I like to crush Skittles together before I eat them, because they look like mosaics.

I met Mother Teresa when I was 11. I don't remember what she said to me. Every quote I read from her feels like she's speaking to me.

What don't I know about you?

Tuesday Talk Host Features: Laura

Today I'm featuring the lovely Laura from Life is Beautiful.

Describe yourself in 3 words:

First three that come to mind: joyful, authentic, frugal (I know, that third one's kind of odd for a top three ;) but in this new season of marriage and parenthood, I'm all about learning to live well on less).
What are five of your favorite things?

My amazing hubby, coffee or tea in a cute mug, fresh cut flowers on the table, reading books on the porch, and good conversations with girlfriends.

What is a motto you live by?

"God uses everything." or "Everything is grace." Both remind me that God is at work in the good, bad, and mundane days and that if we give every moment to Him, He will use it to make us the women we were meant to be. Nothing is wasted. There's a canvas He's painting that we can only see the tiny parts of in this life.

What makes you feel beautiful inside and out?

Word affirmation from my husband or others often can make me feel beautiful on the inside-- something that affirms my mind or heart, who I am on the inside. As for the outside-- doing my hair!! I have somewhat wavy, crazy hair if I let it air dry, so either curling it or straightening it makes me feel so much better! Makeup, too. It just adds some confidence to my step (and hides that third trimester sleep deprivation! ;) ).

What would your one piece of blogging advice be for our readers?

Be yourself. Don't compare to other bloggers. Be authentically you in your content and your voice. There's such a push right now to be a big blogger and it's important to blog for yourself and not for followers or growth. It's a balance to write for others' encouragement and inspiration yet not write for their approval.

What is your favorite thing about the 4th of July?

Ah! So many things! I love the cookout food and red/white/blue treats! Anything patriotic themed makes me happy. Oh, and the fireworks!
What's your favorite DIY trick or recipe or project?
I don't know if this is my favorite, but I love my homemade dryer sheets! I'm not a fan of the nasty chemicals in the ones at the store, so I cut up a few old t-shirts into that size of squares, added them to a mason jar with enough vinegar for them to soak but not swim, and then about 20 drops of my favorite essential oil (this time I used grapefruit for summertime). My husband likes the simplicity of them and I like the nontoxic benefit! :)
Dear readers, what's your favorite DIY, recipe, or project? Make sure you check back in to Laura's blog throughout the summer for a baby update from this sweet mama.

On to the link-up!

Say a Little Prayer

The deafening sound of phones ringing
with frantic loved ones on the other end
crying out to know,
Are you safe?
Are you hurt?
Are you there?
The thought of that sound breaks me down into tears.
It makes so many things seem trivial.
It makes me hug my family tighter.
It makes me grateful for so many things
including the simple message,
"Friends and family, I am safe and sound."

Today I am taking a step back to pray.
To pray for those that were lost.
To pray for healing for those harmed.
To pray in thanksgiving for those that walked away.
To pray for a special intention.
To pray for...
What prayers do you have?
Share in the comments and I'll be sure to hold them close to my heart.
Would you do the same for me?

Thank you!
