Things You Might Not Know About Me

Have you seen these on social media? Fun little lists of facts that you might not have known about someone. I know it is silly, but I kind of love them. And thought I'd join in on the fun today.

I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Theology. I went to college dead set against studying Theology, because, "I wanted to do something with my life." Then I realized there wasn't anything else I wanted more than to use my gifts to bring others to God.
I am cursed/blessed with a young face. It is kind of fun having people tell me I'm not old enough to have a baby and take it back when I say I'm in my thirties.

My food allergies are not all true allergies, but Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Basically when I eat the food my body detects it as if I were eating something I am allergic to. So to my body a yummy apple is akin to me eating ragweed. OAS is extremely common for those with severe seasonal allergies.

I turned my husband down when he first asked me on a date.

My husband and I both do not remember when we first met.

I wanted to have a girl just to prove my husband's statement that his family only has boys wrong.

I have Cherokee Indian in my ancestry. I don't know the percentage, because my great-great grandparents didn't want their heritage to hurt the family so they didn't speak about it much and did not register themselves as Native American. If only they knew how much things would change.

A jar of peanut butter resides in my desk at work.

I like to crush Skittles together before I eat them, because they look like mosaics.

I met Mother Teresa when I was 11. I don't remember what she said to me. Every quote I read from her feels like she's speaking to me.

What don't I know about you?

  1. I didn't even know OAS was a thing! It sounds so interesting though, how that works (or doesn't work). I'm sorry you have to experience that. Also yes, peanut butter rocks. ;)

  2. I knew almost all of these! :)

And I'm pretty sure I can't come up with something you don't know about me. I'll get back to you if I can.

Oh, and great job proving your husband wrong on the whole only having boys thing. ;)

  3. So fun! Well, except the sort-of-allergies thing. That sounds like it is *worse* than regular allergies, if only because you have to explain it. Anything you have to explain that much is not great. Like a bad joke.
